Sansevieria (Sans-Zae-Very-Ah) Trifasciata
This plant is perfect for beginners, or those with busy lives due to its hardiness and easy care requirements.
Available in two sizes.
An air-purifying plant, so perfect for rooms and offices that you spend the most time in. It is also one of NASA's recommended air-purifying houseplants, according to a 'Clean Air Study' conducted back in 1989.
According to Feng-Shui, if placed in specific corners a snake plant will bring positive energies in the form of prosperity, long life, intelligence, beauty, strength, art, and poetry.
Care and tips:
🌞 = Can survive in almost any light conditions. Leaves can burn under direct sunlight, and will have a slower growth rate in darker areas.
💧= Allow soil to completely dry between waters, then water and be sure to drain any excess water left as this will create a root rot problem.
🐶🐱👶= Mildly toxic if eaten, so keep out of reach of tiny humans and furry creatures. It is tortoise friendly if fed in small amounts among a varied diet.
Fairly easy to propagate, can be done through leaf cuttings or the division method.
Things to look out for:
Overwatering: Yellow/browning leaves. Don't allow to sit in water or this can cause root rot which could cause the stems and leaves to have a mushy appearance and die.
Underwatering: The leaves and stems can look empty and shrivelled/dried up and can turn yellow/brown in colour.
